Once you arrive at the airport in Guatemala City, there are several ways which you may consider for transportation to Antigua.

Taxi. A taxi to Antigua, taken at the airport, is approximately US$25 - $30 for a one way trip. 2 or 3 people will have to be negotiated with the driver for the best price. Bear in mind that taxis are not late model cars and that the road to Antigua is a winding one with changes in elevation from 4900 ft to almost 8000 ft. You can not choose your taxi as they are in a constant queue just outside the exit door of customs at the airport, unless you wait for the desired taxi to be the one that leaves next. You will be lucky if you can get a recent model (5 years old).

Shuttle. There is a shuttle service that operates from the airport to Antigua. Its tariffs run aproximately from $10 per person and their schedule has some fluctuations. Please contact the school via telephone or E-Mail for the most recent time of departure. The school is not responsible for any variation in the times of departure from the airport.

Private car. The school can arrange for someone to meet you at the airport after you have passed Immigrations and Customs formalities and bring you to Antigua. You must have a place of destination in advance in Antigua. Roberto, 38, 1.85m. (6'1"), short black hair will meet you AFTER the glass door that leads to the street (you will be able to see the cars in the street from this point) and BEFORE the steel railing that separates arriving passengers (you) from general public. Should there be another person to meet you at the airport besides Roberto, this person will refer to you by your name upon greeting you. Do not forget to provide a short physical description of yourself in your Application Form - it will help us to identify you more readily. The fare for this service is $25 for one person, $30 for 2 and $35 for 3 with limited lugagge. If the airplane lands after 10:00 p.m., there will be an additional charge of US10.This payment must be included with the deposit(s) that you send to our Miami address. This address in Miami is a courier that expedites mail to Guatemala in a prompt and secure manner.  There is no personnel from San José el Viejo at this Miami address.  If you are staying at the school casitas, you are entitled to a one-way free transportation from the airport to the school. The ride is free from Guatemala City to Antigua only.
